Dr. Jason Watkins,
Assistant Superintendent

Dr. Jason Watkins graduated from California University of PA earning an undergraduate degree in Technology Education K-12, a Master's in Technology Education, and a second Master's in Education with a principal certification. He furthered his studies at the University of Pittsburgh, where he received a Doctor of Education degree and his Superintendent Letter of Eligibility. Committed to lifelong learning, he recently obtained an Education Finance Certification from the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University through a scholarship opportunity.

Dr. Watkins began his career as a Technology Education teacher, teaching in Maryland for a year and then for eleven years at Slippery Rock Area School District. Dr. Watkins then transitioned into administration as the Principal of A.W. Beattie Career Center, a career and technical center serving nine school districts in northern Allegheny County. After three years as Principal, he was  promoted to Assistant Executive Director, where he contributed to the strategic planning and growth of the career center, overseeing an increase in student enrollment from 600 to over 1,000. His experience includes collaborating with educational leaders, teachers, parents, students, community members, business, industry and  healthcare professionals, trade unions and higher education institutions to provide education and career opportunities for students. 

Dr. Watkins looks forward to serving the Grove City Area School District, building upon its strong history and successes to advance its future through collaboration and continuous improvement.
