Dr. Jeffrey Finch, Superintendent

Dr. Jeffrey Finch graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Technology Education.  While teaching in the Seneca Valley School District, Dr. Finch continued his education at Carlow College where he completed a Master of Education degree along with his certification as a school principal.  In 1999 Dr. Finch accepted an administrative position with the Hampton Township School District, located just 10 miles north of the city of Pittsburgh.  During his 17 year employment with Hampton he served 3 years as the high school assistant principal, 12 years as the high school principal, and 2 years as the district's assistant superintendent.  He has continued his education by obtaining his Superintendents' Letter of Eligibility through Westminster College and doctorate through Capella University.

Dr. Finch began his tenure as Superintendent with the Grove City Area School District in January of 2016.  Since the time of his arrival he has focused his efforts on building relationships with members of our school and community as well as working to establish new support systems for the District.  Dr. Finch has participated on several local boards and committees for regional development and educational partnerships.  He has also worked to reintegrate the office of the Assistant Superintendent and to develop a new Department of Pupil Services.  

Dr. Joshua J. Weaver, Assistant Superintendent

Dr. Joshua Weaver graduated from Slippery Rock University with a degree in Physics and a Master’s Degree in Education.  He continued his education at SRU by earning his principal's certification and then attended Westminster College to acquire his superintendent's letter of eligibility.  Dr. Weaver then pursued his doctorate through Capella University.  He taught physics for five years in both the Seneca Valley School District and the Hampton Township School District prior to entering administration. 

During his time in administration, Dr. Weaver served as Hopewell High School’s Assistant Principal, Springdale Jr-Sr. High School’s Principal, and Kiski Area Upper Elementary’s Principal.  He had the unique opportunity to not only be heavily involved in the renovation and addition of Kiski Area Upper Elementary, but to also redesign the program for all students in grades 5 and 6.  The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) centered program redesign and curriculum changes were accomplished through a collaborative effort of staff, administration, board, and community.  

Dr. Weaver began his tenure as Assistant Superintendent with the Grove City Area School District in the spring of 2016.  He loves serving the school and community.
