Visiting Our School Buildings

The Grove City Area School District encourages parents to become active parents and visitors in our schools.

We kindly ask that you keep the following in mind the next time you visit. The Grove City Area School District prohibits alcohol, drugs, weapons or tobacco on any school property. All individuals, vehicles and containers on any school grounds are subject to search. Also, unauthorized persons are prohibited. For the safety of those in our buildings, all visitors will find they are required to be given access by office personnel. Please note that video cameras tape activity at all school entrances and in various parts of the buildings. All visitors are also required to sign-in and will be asked to utilize a valid driver’s license to create a visitor’s badge, which must be worn at all times while on school property. Upon leaving the building, visitors are required to sign-out and leave the visitor badge with the office staff. We thank you in advance for following these procedures for the safety of all
students and staff.

When you visit a Grove City Area School District building, here's what you need to do:

1. Press the button on the camera outside the front doors.
2. An office assistant will ask you to identify yourself.
3. Please provide your name and who you are there to see.
4. Once our office staff confirms your appointment, you will be allowed entrance into the building.
5. Go directly to the office.
6. Give the office assistant your driver’s license. The assistant will use a computer system called Raptor to run a brief background check. Please keep in mind that we do this for all of our visitors. Raptor is a system linked to a world-wide database of crimes against children. The license is scanned into the Raptor system and alerts the office staff within seconds if the visitor has committed a crime against children.
7. When leaving, please visit the office to alert staff that you are checking out.
